The driver

Alfred Andersson

Alfred Andersson, Affe to his friends, is a drifter from Jönköping, Sweden. Born in 2001, he runs car #21. He started drifting in the fall of 2024, entered his first competition at Tierp Arena a year later, and in 2026 he's running the RM class of the Swedish Drift Championship.

[How it started. His first time in a drift car, and why he built one himself instead of buying one ready to run.]

His pit crew is family and friends. When the car caught fire in 2025, they had it back together in 15 days. For 2026, Jonas Franzén pitched in on the new engine.

The build

From bare shell to the start line

Every step happened in his own garage. Here's how it came together.

  1. The S14 with the hood open and the engine in place [Year]

    The build

[Where he found the car, why this engine, and what Alfred did himself.]

  2. The car in its blue livery at the track 2025

    The blue season

The year in blue was a rough one, with a few offs and one fire. At Gatebil in September, Alfred was two tires in when he ran into the car ahead under a yellow flag. The hit broke the oil cooler mounts, an oil line chafed through on the alternator, and the engine bay went up. Alfred walked away unhurt.

  3. Smoke rising from a car beside the track 2025

    The rebuild

Fifteen days after the fire, the car was running again, thanks to family, friends and partners. It was finished the day before the trip to Tierp Arena, where Alfred entered his first competition. He tagged the wall right before qualifying and had it fixed in ten minutes, but his scores fell short of the top 16.

  4. Design sketch of Pilen's red, black and white livery 2026

    Pilen

The car came out of the winter with a new engine and a fresh red, black and white livery by AWS Graphics. At the Swedish Drift Championship opener at Tierp Arena, Alfred qualified 12th out of 18 and made it to the top 8.
